Linda Fruhvirtova hasn't been having a whole lot of success on the WTA Tour for the last few years and this season has been no different. The 21-year-old is barely standing inside the top 200 rankings after pulling off nothing better than a quarterfinal in Ostrava and a second-round finish at the Australian Open this year.
Bai Zhuoxuan breezed into the main draw of the China Open as a qualifier after crushing both opponents in straight sets. The Chinese player finds herself in worse circumstances than the Czech. Though she had some ITF results at home, she is yet to compensate for her 2025 absence.
