This UEFA Nations League (UNL) clash between Group B4’s winless bottom two has a ‘must-win’ feel to it for both Poland and Romania if they’re realistic about threatening the promotion picture.

After a first relegation from League A in the last cycle, Poland were expected to be in the mix to make an instant return to the top tier, but their start to this current campaign has been rather underwhelming (D1, L1). This has been a competition which hasn’t served them well of late, as their slow start to this cycle means they’re now winless in seven UNL games (D2, L5) which, when coupled with a failure to qualify for the summer’s World Cup too, surely puts boss Jan Urban’s position under scrutiny. Failing to win any of their last five League B away games (D2, L3) hardly hints at a response coming on the road, nor does the fact that the only team they’ve beaten on the road since October 2024 are FIFA’s lowest-ranked side in San Marino!
